Our greatest challenge in life can be taming our tongue. For most, our mouth puts us in situations that are difficult to get out of. Before you know it, we have given life to words or comments that damage relationships or the feelings of those we love. Regain the power of your tongue. Be conscious of the words that come out of your mouth. God gave us two ears and one mouth. Listen more than you speak. A compassionate listener will motivate others to hear what they have to say.

James 1:19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

You are a child of God! Jesus Christ has paid the price for your identity. Don’t allow false accusations or labels to define you. When you realize who you are in Christ, you can stop searching for your identity in the world.

I Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Make a conscious decision to start your day with prayer. Just like our physical body, our spirit needs strength to handle the daily grind. Regardless if it is for a minute or an hour, time spent in prayer prepares you for your day.

Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Today is the day to tell yourself that you are going to make it! God has written your success story! Tell your thoughts and emotions you are stronger, more successful, and sufficient in God’s loving shelter. Allow God to be your strength! When you are weak, God is strong!

II Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

You can’t give birth to what God has given you without going through the labor pains that comes with it. Continue to push! Don’t give up! Your blessing will be delivered soon.

John 16:20-21 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

Today know that God loves you more than you can ever love yourself. As a loving parent, He has to allow us to go through some painful experiences. God prefers we didn’t experience hurt or pain. But, some experiences and events are unavoidable and necessary. Remember, God had to endure the greatest pain of all. He had to watch His only begotten son die for our sins!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Today lets focus on using our energy to uplift and encourage others. Don’t waste your time spreading or listening to gossip. The same person you are sharing gossip with will gossip about you!

Proverbs 11:13 A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.
